Auto Insurance in CA

There are basically five different types of coverages. Some may be required by law and others are optional.

Liability:Bodily Injury & Property Damage
This coverage protects you from expenses related to bodiliy injury or property damage you or your car case in an accident. This is a mandatory coverage in the state of california. Minimum requirement in CA is $15,000 per person, $30,000 per accident for bodily injury and $5,000 for property damage.

Medical Payment
This covers medical expenses for you and your passengers that result from an accident.

Uninsured Motorist
This pays for expenses associated with bodiliy injury or death from an accident caused by an unisured, underinsured who is at fault.

Physical Damage
Collision
This pays to repair the damage done to your car due to an accident.
Comprehensive/Other than collision
In most situations, this pays for damage done to your car not involving a collision with another car (including damage from fire, explosions, falling objects and vandalism)
